The ROM Friday Night Live Finale closes another amazing run in 2013
TORONTO, ON – ROM Friday Night Live offers trendy and eclectic entertainment; live bands, DJs, dance, film and interactive conversations in Canada’s largest museum of natural history and world cultures. The Royal Ontario Museum has more than six million objects in its collections showcasing art, archaeology and natural science.
This popular adult only event; ROM Friday Night Live, started three years ago and brings a younger, hipper crowd in to experience its galleries and artifacts on Friday nights when it ‘stays up late’. The final FNL ROM event took place on December 6, 2013. Supporting sponsors Peroni and Amsterdam brought International and domestic craft beers for this and every one of the other seven FNL events this season. Wines and specialty cocktails were also available at one of the many bars scattered across the open galleries. Some of Toronto’s best known and best loved pop-up food vendors were showcased.
An elite group of students from the University of Toronto Music Jazz program played amongst Earths Treasures while The Beauties, nominated by event sponsor NOW magazine as the Best Band in Toronto, were showing their talent in Curelly Hall. If you were actually interested in the exhibits and not just the party, the exhibit ‘Wildlife Photographer of the Year’ was featured on level three. One hundred breathtaking large format images of nature and wildlife were inspirational.
On the lower level of the museum over 170 priceless objects from the British Museum were on display in ‘Mesopotamia: Inventing Our World’. ROM Friday Night Live FINALE was truly an enlightening and entertaining Friday Night in the city!
