CLGA 2nd Annual Disco Gala

TORONTO, ONT – Afros, bell bottoms, frilled shirts, mirror balls, moustaches and sequins this could have been Yorkville in 1978 or the 2014 CLGA’s 2nd Annual Disco Gala. Indeed it was CLGA 2nd Annual Disco Gala held at the Toronto Reference Library’s Bram and Bluma Appel Salon on November 29, 2014 where 500 disco-clad guests boogied the evening away.

Disco is the best floorshow in town. It’s very democratic, boys with boys, girls with girls, girls with boys, blacks and whites, capitalists and Marxists, Chinese and everything else, all in one big mix. Truman Capote (The London Review of Books, 6 January 2000)

Vancouver’s drag sensation Symone Says hosted the event, which included a cocktail reception, live entertainment from Michelle Ross, the Toronto All-Star Big Band, a gourmet dinner provided by à la Carte Kitchen, a live auction and a full-out disco dance party with DJ Mark Oliver.
