BOUNCE – An Informal Ball for The Theatre Centre
BY YYZEvents
TORONTO, ON – On a gorgeous winter’s evening Queen St West hosted a remarkable evening of surprise, great food and art to celebrate the creation of a permanent home for The Theatre Centre, one of Canada’s leading arts incubators.
The company transformed the beautiful heritage ‘Carnegie Library’ building into a performing arts venue in Toronto’s dynamic West Queen West neighbourhood.
Attendees included Mayor Rob Ford and his wife Renata while his brother Councillor Doug Ford showed up a bit later to support the Theatre Centre.
Host Don Mckellar, gave a moving tribute that honoured his deceased actress wife, Tracy Wright (well known for her stage and film performances).
The main room was decorated in huge red ‘bouncy’ ballons while the Theatre Centre members dress in period troubadours and minstrels costumes with Louis XV wigs and performed dances reminiscent of that period.
The evening features amazing apps and drink provided by P&L.
Funds raised through BOUNCE will support the capital renovation of The Theatre Centre’s new venue.
