TORONTO, ONT – The third annual Wonderful Women Event, hosted by the Weizmann Canada’s Women and Science committee was held to a sold out audience at Toronto Casa Loma.

The almost exclusive women’s audience heard from a panel of amazing and successful women which included author and Eight-Time JUNO Award Winner Jann Arden, actress, sous-chef best known as co-host of the Canadian cooking TV series What’s for Dinner?  Mary Jo Eustace, President and Chief Merchant at Sears Canada Carrie Kirkman and Immunologist and winner of the Gruber Award for Scientific Excellence Dr. Yifat Merbl from the Weizmann Institute of Science. The evening was moderated by Canadian television journalist Dianne Buckner best known as a host of Venture and Dragons’ Den TV Shows.

The evening included a cocktail and dessert reception followed by a book signing by Jann Arden.

Funds raised will benefit the Israel national Postdoctoral Award Program for Advancing Women in Science.

Weizmann Canada is the Canadian fundraising body for the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel, rated one of the world’s top 10 schools in research impact. The Women and Science committee raises funds for the Israel National Postdoctoral Award program for Advancing Women in Science.
