TORONTO, ONT – On November 20th, TEAM CJ hosted the 4th Annual Black-Tie Autism Gala Under the Big Top for Autism at Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex in Toronto with proceeds going to Autism Speaks Canada.
Bedecked in crystals and stars, the Autism Gala 2014 strings both beauty and hope among its attendees. Founders Paula Stamp and Calvin Berry speak with passion and dedication as they present their mission to all. Their amazing son CJ stands with them, an energetic boy who is both the inspiration and the passion that drives the Autism Gala since 2008.
Hosted by CP24 Breakfast TV Steve Anthony, the evening featured Cirque du Soleilesque performances from jugglers and acrobats re-creating the charm of being a kid ‘Under the Big Top’ featured a cocktail reception followed by a amazing 4 course dinner, open bar, a silent auction and entertainment.
Noted guests at the event included Mayor Elect now Mayor John Tory who took a moment to speak to the crowd with an impassioned call for awareness, MPP Christine Elliott who was escorted by her son, boxing great George Chuvalo, Members from the Canadian Rock Band Platinum Blonde and former Blue Jay Kelly Gruber.
‘Under the Big Top for Autism’ was founded in 2011 by Paula Stamp & Calvin Barry whose son CJ, who was diagnosed with autism in 2007. The event is presented by TEAM CJ.
Autism Speaks is a charity whose aim is to bring the autism community together as one strong voice to urge the government and private sector to listen to our concerns and take action to address this urgent global health crisis.
